Finding a wedding planner in your area or at your wedding destination site is easy.  There are hundreds of guys and gals that will take your ideas, show up day-of and watch the circus unfold from a quiet corner at the back of the room.  But, finding a professional consultant for one of the most important days of your life will take a bit more effort on your part but well worth it at the end of the planning.

How do you know you have found the right person?  All correspondence should be returned within a 24-hour time frame.  When you need an answer to a question or concern, a timely response will ease any anxiety and give you reassurance.

Do you feel comfortable and confident that the professional will get the job done?  Ask for references.  Ask about prior events he/she has coordinated.  Ask the professional what sets them apart from the others.  The conversation should focus on your specific wedding day planning not a wedding package that was created with the vendors best interest in mind.

Is your wedding the only event they will book on your wedding day?  If you are looking for and expect to have one specific person coordinating your day, ensure they are available on-site at your wedding for you.
